As a representative and subsidiary of Skydio USA, the Skydio GK Japan team provides best-in-class sales, service and support to their growing customer base in Japan and APAC.


About the role

Join their team as an enthusiastic Solutions Engineer for their Japan business, where you will serve large clients with diverse use cases. You'll play a vital role in bridging technical discovery and implementation for their wide range of customers. Your mission is to grasp and articulate customer needs, demonstrating the innovative features of Skydio's drone product line. You'll be the pivotal link between the efforts of their product and sales teams to create compelling, customer-specific demonstration plans that bring Skydio technology to life in real-world scenarios. Reporting directly to the Solutions Engineering Manager for Japan, you will collaborate extensively with their Product, Engineering, and Sales departments, contributing to the timely delivery of groundbreaking autonomous solutions.

This is an office-based position at their Skydio GK HQ in Tokyo, Japan.


How you'll make an impact

  • Foster a deep understanding of customer needs, pinpointing key success metrics, and orchestrating tailored product demonstrations and field trials
  • Independently handle all facets of system demonstrations, from equipment setup and operation to troubleshooting, ensuring a compelling presentation of their technology's value to customers and partners
  • Lead the charge in system validation and customer implementation processes and successful deployment
  • Assist in crafting responses for RFIs, RFPs, and other technical documentation
  • Act as a voice of the customer within their team, influencing product development and engineering strategies based on field experiences and feedback
  • Support various go-to-market strategies and business activities as needed


What makes you a good fit

  • Solid technical background in areas including professional drone applications, radio systems,networks, software, security, prototyping, and electronics
  • Good understanding of the small unmanned aircraft regulatory landscape
  • Relevant experience serving their major industries like Defence, electrical utilities, architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audience levels
  • Proven track record of implementing new technologies for diverse clients, collaborating effectively with technical teams to meet project timelines
  • At least 2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience
  • Japanese native speakerJapan drone certification a plus ( ―/二等無人航空機操縦士)
  • Ability to read and write English; communication a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time, engaging closely with clients and stakeholders
