As a Sr. Staff/Principal Airspace Integration Specialist, you will join a small, dynamic team responsible for implementing the elements enabling Urban Air Mobility. Your specific role will be to drive the regulatory and standards engagement work to support ground/air infrastructure and services necessary to establish a product/service that scales to millions of customer trips.
A great Sr. Staff/Principal defines and articulates the ConOps and overall Airspace Integration strategy across various internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory, policy, local-state-federal government, and commercial entities. Ultimately, this self-driven individual will influence critical commercial, engineering, and regulatory decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Define Advanced Air Mobility ConOps for the company's 6th generation UAS eVTOL aircraft.
- Establish industry-defining airspace and ground services/infrastructure regulatory & standards roadmap, in addition to regulatory & standards requirements to support remotely supervised, uncrewed flight operations.
- Advance ConOps and airspace development through strategic engagements with regulators, SDOs, Wisk partners, and other industry stakeholders.
- Drive program and industry cohesion across current/emerging CNS, C2-Links, vertiports, data networks, 3rd Party Service Providers, ANSP services, and associated rules and regulations.
- Drive and support the what, why, and by-when behind airspace/ground Advanced Air Mobility operational maturation efforts.
- Ensure Wisk's business needs are reflected in ConOps and enabling efforts.
- Prioritize multiple efforts across all departments and systems.
- Identify execution risks and prepare mitigation plans.
What you'll need:
- Ability to work with ambiguity.
- Expert understanding of FAA ATM/ATC operations and airspace constructs.
- Solid understanding of airspace deconfliction and flow management methods.
- Strong understanding of CNS, C2-Links, vertiport, PSU, and ANSP elements.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies, standards organizations, and certified product requirements.
- International perspective of AAM evolution across EASA/APAC jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies and associated airspace/ground infrastructure evolution.
- Strong product instincts, excellent communication skills, and technical fluency.
- An open-minded, creative, self-critical, flexible, and adaptable personality.
Requirements:
- Aerospace industry experience.
- 15+ years in an Airspace Integration role (or equivalent experience).
- Domain knowledge with requirements gathering, information architecture, MBSE framework, functional/technical specifications, test cases, test definition, and release management.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience with fast-paced organizations.
- Ability to travel 25-30% of the time, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering (or related aviation degree).
Preferred:
- Experience in UAS/BVLOS engineering and operations.
- Experience in airspace management (including UTM-USS and AAM PSU concepts).
- Understanding of FAA xTM, NASA UML-4, and SESAR U-SPACE airspace definitions.
- A thought leader in emerging Autonomous and Digital Flight Rule concepts.
- Ms./Ph.D. in Engineering preferred.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay:$158,795 - $242,648per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
